Aimee attended my 2010 home birth. She was amazing. Aimee has a gentle and compassionate spirit that emanates through her hands as she touches you and through her words as she provides reassuring encouragement.  She fully invests herself into the birthing mama and gives her all to make the experience gentler and more peaceful. She had no agenda as my doula and let me decide the route I wanted to take with my birth. Aimee worked wonderfully to support my husband as well, allowing him time to sleep and eat which was necessary several times during my extended labor. She worked beautifully with my midwife and I truly felt as though my birthing team was 100% behind me, as a united force. My birth was everything I dreamed it would be and I am so thankful Aimee was a part of this miraculous moment in my family’s life!

My son was born a few weeks early so we were not exactly as prepared for his birth as we would have liked to be.  Our Doula was out of town and Aimee was going to be the attending Doula at our birth.  Although I had never met her, when Aimee showed up at the hospital during intense contractions I felt immediately reassured by her warm smile and calm demeanor which stayed in place throughout the whole process.  You would never have known that Aimee didn't have much notice for the birth or background information on our pregnancy. 

Both my husband and I took comfort in Aimee's encouraging words and soothing touch.  We knew she was there to help and also felt we had our private moments together as a new family.  Even though we did not know one another it felt perfectly natural for Aimee to be present at the birth of our son and we were relieved that she could be there.

Aimee was my doula for my first pregnancy.  When I met her, I was immediately taken by her warm nature, lack of judgment and openness to my ideas for a birth plan.  I was an uncertain, nervous mother to be with many questions and a need for both comfort and information.  Aimee provided both.  Throughout my pregnancy, she helped give me the confidence and reassurance I needed.  She was able to answer all my questions, and help me think about the decisions I needed to make with solid information as well as experience.  She was always open, and helped me to make choices that were right for me.  I know my husband also felt a great sense of relief knowing he had Aimee to help him understand what I was and would be going through.  My husband was also out of town for work for the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy, and Aimee was always checking to see that I was ok, and I knew I could call her anytime and she would be there.  During labor and delivery, she was at my side the whole time and I honestly could not have done it without her.  She gave me comfort and support and made me feel calm and safe.  After we were home, she came and presented us with a beautiful story of my daughter’s birth she had created for us.  Aimee truly is a wonderful, kind person and an exceptional doula.

We contacted Aimee in January of 2010 to be our Hypnobabies instructor for the birth of our son.  By our third session in February, we asked her to be our doula, as well. Throughout the process, her kindness, wisdom and (most importantly) sense of humor helped us immensely.  As my son's due date approached, Aimee was available for whatever stupid/ridiculous/funny questions I had via phone, email or text, and always responded quickly and with her trademark charm.  My son's birth was not exactly as expected, and Aimee was an incredible ally and advocate for both me and my partner when it came to making some very important decisions.  She was also right there for whatever I needed, whether it was a louder voice, a cheerleader, a massage therapist, or a standup comedienne.  Obviously, the labor and delivery of your child is something you'll never forget, and Aimee's presence that day (and night, and next day), was nothing less than a godsend, one that myself, my partner, and our son are immensely thankful for.  In the months since, I have come to consider her as much more than just our doula, but a very good friend as well (in fact, my parents, who met her while I was in labor, ask about her constantly!).  I simply cannot say enough good things about her. She's amazing.

Aimee was essential in helping us in the delivery of our precious baby boy.  We met Aimee because she was our Hypnobabies instructor.  So, right from the beginning, she knew our goal was to have a natural, drug-free delivery. 

On the day I went into labor, she met us at the hospital and immediately knew exactly what I needed.  I was experiencing all my contractions in my back and she knew many positions to try to help alleviate the back pain.   On my first measurement, I was only 3 cm dilated and was discouraged with the extreme pain of the back contractions knowing that I needed to dilate to 10 cm and the pain would only get worse.  When I told Aimee how upset I was by only measuring 3 cm, she continued to encourage me to keep going.  She then suggested I take a warm shower and said ‘After you take a nice shower, you’ll come out and we’ll have the baby’.  A few short hours later, I was holding my baby boy in my arms and was forever grateful to have Aimee there to encourage me to keep going without intervention.
